The Third Child

Lilly has really been getting the short end of the Camera, with the other two I could always find a quiet place or take photos of Jonas while Nila was napping but with Lilly it is 100% action around here. I actually had to take these of her up on the changing table and out of little hands reach. Both the kids love Lilly, you would melt if you heard Jonas say "Babby Lilly tawking to me" when she coos in her bouncy chair. Nila also always wants to hold her and be by her. She is a really great baby but as the third child I think she had no choice.

We love you baby Lilly.

Picking Pumpkins

Saturday Sarah went to visit a friend and I took the kids to pick pumpkins with Jill, Jason, Markia and Adam. Nila is wearing her new boots from the NYGrandparents (Thanks Grandma Linda and Grandpa Ralph).

Kids

Jonas sporting the great vest we received from our friends at coolspot blog. I showed him how to lean against the tree like a pro. I tried to get him to lean on one shoulder but it was not a pretty sight. Nila as always doing her super model pose on the flower she drew.

Jonas...he seriously just licked the entire length of my arm.

Jonas is awesome. He runs and jumps and takes life at mock speed. His latest trick is to set up a race for himself and countdown the start.

"One, two, six, fifteen, three, seven, GO!"

He still desperately wants to play with the big kids or any kids on the street. If he spies ANY kids out playing in their yards he runs quickly to join in.

Nila news

Nila has learned to pump! It is a glorious day when a child learns to pump (for both the parent and the child). Nila just loves it and has been seen nonstop on the swings every time we visit the playground. She also started a new preschool today. Things have been a little crazy this week trying to get all the paperwork done. Nila's obsession with all things art continues. She is now into making really cool designs. She has a new friend down the street named Molly and they are inseperable most afternoons. They bike or do sidewalk chalk and also dig up worms from the backyard. Jason comes home to find at least a couple containers of dirt and worms on the front porch. Nila calls them her pets and is now lobbying for a real pet dog or cat or a fish at the least. "Just look at how I keep my worms". Needless to say, we are not getting a real pet any time soon.

Lilly where are you?

In fear that we may not have any photos to put up at Lilly's first birthday party I have been hounding Jason to take some of Lilly. Here are some he snapped the other night on the way out the door. Lilly is growing really well and starting to settle into a nice pattern and rhythem. I would say schedule, but she keeps getting interupted by the older kids' activities. The poor thing will just fall asleep when I wisk her up and out of the house again. She does not sleep thru the night prefering to get up three or so times to nurse. I imagine she just likes the peace and quiet of nursing at night without two very excited children trying to tap on her head or shake her foot or bend her arm backwards. She has a wonderful deep giggle and is such a wiggler! Lilly in the morning is pure joy - when she sees you for the first time she smiles and wiggles all around.

Limb Down!

We had a big storm on Tuesday night and a HUGE branch from one of our trees came down. We also lost power for the night and into the next day. Poor Jason had to cut this thing up with a little trim saw. Fortunately he had a little help from Jonas.

Cold weather

The cold last week kinda caught us off guard. I didn't really have anything warm for the kids to wear. Lilly is sporting the fuzzy green sweater that we received way back before Nila was born from a friend at Jason's office. It is so warm and cozy. I went and did some much needed back to school shopping for the kids this weekend. I have to say shopping for three makes my mind kinda whirl!

Fork man

We got a surprise package from Grandma Linda and Grandpa Ralph over the weekend. The kids just loved it!! Nila received a snail tape dispenser which is just perfect for her considering how much tape we go through. (We bought $20 of tape at Costco. Jason thinks it will last a year...my prediction is more like two months. We love us some tape here.) Jonas got this cool Fork Man. There was even a package for Lilly - a cute giraffe that the other kids both think is just awesome. Lilly has yet to voice her opinion. Thanks Grandma& Grandpa!!

Baby Lilly

Jonas is really starting to love baby Lilly. He is always entertaining her and getting her toys and such. She has started this deap giggle for extra funny antics. It is just too sweet to watch. We have only had one head smashing incident - where I think it hurt Jonas more than Lilly. Since then he has been extra careful around her.

Art Sale

Nila had an art sale a few weeks back. She set the whole thing up after we got back from Mass. Dragged the table out there and made some art quick. She was out there a good hour before things picked up and the neighborhood girls showed up. They classed it up by making a sign and displaying the art in a sectioned off part of the driveway making room for the ever present cash register on the table. By the end of it they were selling art, painted rocks, lemonaid, and dog bisquits (dog drinks were free). They actually made $11!
