I was cleaning up after feeding Jonas and gave Nila his food to finish. (She really likes to finish his food) All of a sudden I hear "Eat Jonas, Eat!" and walk back in to find this. I thought he was done but I guess there is always a little more room for carrots and potatoes.

I came home from work tonight and Nila ran out to great me wearing this. She freaked me out a little bit. Sarah got it out to see if it still would fit her this year. She was pretending to be a baby.

After I took a photo she ran away and hid under the sink.

Nila is not sleeping in a crib any more and gets out of her bed every couple of nights and sneeks in with us. Sometimes I wake up and find her arms and legs draped over me. She also has the bad habit of rubbing our arms and faces all night (not great when you are trying to sleep). Anyways this morning she was still passed out while everyone else in the family was getting ready for the day.

After about a week Jonas has decided that crawling is for babies and has decided to move on up in life. This is not a good things for his parents though. We are also "on our toes" at all times. Also the low jack bracelet around his ankle is a plastic band aide. Nila got a doctor set from Christine and Pascal and Jonas has since fallen into a deep sickness that needs constant attention. I guess before Jonas was sick Pascale and Christine's dog had a bunch of medical problems that Nila was tending to.

We had to get out of the house yesterday afternoon and go for a walk (or Bear Hunt as Nila likes to call it). Nila is really going awhile without wanting to be carried now... She did get a little tired and transform into a potato sac at the end though.

Gardening Year 1. Our neighbors planted one of the extra zucchini plants Sarah had from her garden store adventure earlier this year. They put it behind their house in a grass clipping compost pile and left it alone. We have had HUGE zucchinis all summer. They kept one on the vine to get good seeds to plant the same thing again next year. This is the monster they got.

STOP THE CUTE PLEASE!!! IT HURTS!!!

Nila walked in the field the whole way around. She loved it and so did I because then no worries about cars.

Nila liked this sign...

A random cat we met...

Love this pose - she is seriously stalking this cat.

Ready for our walk

It is my new goal to get outside for walks everyday. The fresh air is good for everyone.

Here is Nila ready to go on her walk...notepad, lunchbox (full of random toys) and an orange.

Jonas is ready too - Nila brought him a toy to play with.

Jonas Friday

No good photos from Jonas Friday. We went to the grocery this morning and then spent all afternoon cooking and cleaning getting ready for our friends to come over to dinner. Jonas was just so cute at the grocery. He sits in the cart and holds on with both hands the whole time. I wish I would have gotten a photo.

All I can say is that I just love this little guy and he gets more precious every moment. I see the move in the photo above a lot lately - he is trying to stand up - by just straightening his legs during a crawl.

Playing animals

Nila and Jonas don't ever play together of course, but sometimes Nila will tolerate Jonas hanging out nearby. These photos are not at all Jason quality, but I came upon this happy twosome last week and just wanted to document it.

Getting things done...

Getting dinner made at the end of the day is always a challange even without little ones at the end of their (and my) patience. I strapped Jonas on my back tonight and it helped a lot...moving to wearing him on my back helps with the back problems I have had, but it is harder than it looks to get him tied into this thing. Just how do you get a wiggly baby to hold still behind you?

We had lunch with some friends from work Saturday and then walked down to a small regional products fair. Nila went on her first real pony ride. She held on great and is still talking about it a couple of days later but the entire time she was on the horse she wore her very serious face.

Nila was the ONLY person dancing but she did not seem to mind.
