Moving on up

Well we are down a floor actually. We are moving to a new apt only about 1K from our old one. It is a new building and we are the first people to move in. One extra bedroom, LOTS of extra space and it gets Nila away from the busy intersection that we live on now (scooters with no mufflers are not our friends durring beddy bye time)

Hope to have photos soon.

Big blue eyes and two bottom teeth (no photo of the teeth yet), she is getting bigger each day. Next week we get a new apartment in the same town we are in now. The 1 bedroom we got before Nila was born has reached capacity and we are moving into a new 2 bedroom a couple of kilometers away. We will send out the new address via email soon. Sarah and I will be back in the USA at the beginning of September (Labor Day Week) for the Jen and Michael wedding. Hope to see everyone then.

And a couple of more with Nila. She was great at the beach and everyone loves her.  Posted by Picasa

Although short we had a great time with the Martaux family. This is the third year we have spent time with them during their summer vacation. Next year I need to remember to hide my big white self behind someone else before the photo is taken. Until then you will just need to use your thumb to cover me up and protect your eyes

Once again the thumb is always available for a quick calm down.

Its hard to tell if it was the sun, wind, noise from the waves or this hat that set her off.

She didn't quite know what to make of the whole sand thing. Our biggest job was trying to keep her from eating the stuff. She is 100% into the GRAB AND EAT mode right now. Friday at dinner I turned my head for a second and she grabbed my beer with both hands from the restaurant table and almost had it dumped all over herself before I grabbed it.

When in a scary situation the thumb is always available for a little comfort.

Sarah found this great bathing suit. I think it was for a 1 year old but with the humungo diaper it seemed to fit just right. Posted by Picasa

In the water... Posted by Picasa

Finally at the beach. Nilas little heart was racing when I took her in the water the first time. She cried at first then she got a little more use to it. As you can see from the photo the beach is a popular place....

With the whole new teeth / drool thing that we have going on right now every outfit now includes a bib. One more thing we need to always have on hand.

Daddy loves Nila... Posted by Picasa

Sarah and I took a mini French August holiday. The normal French tradition is 3 weeks in the south at the beach. We did the 2.5 day crazy American version. This involved me ripping myself from work Friday at 12.30 and then driving like mad to the south in order to arrive at the hotel before they closed for the night or gave our room to someone else. The first three hours went great then we hit melting point. Normally it is a 6 hour drive. The last three hours took us 5; we did get to see some magnificent rest stops though
