Our apartment has this spooky "cave" (that is what it is actually called in French) downstairs. None of the doors are marked; some are open with a bunch of old mildewing cobweb covered stuff inside. The best part is the light is on a 30 second or so timer so every time I go down there I need to hit the light, rush in and try to unlock our door and turn on the small light inside. Whenever I need to get the suitcases out I am trying to go down that hall and without fail the light goes out on me and I am forced to grope around for that flipping switch. Anyways I have told some of you about it over the phone. Here are some pictures.

Sarah had her 34/35 week checkup last week. Over here they do a ultrasound at 34 weeks. Here is the information we have after the visit.

1. The baby is doing great

2. The baby weighs about 3.3 kilo = 6.6 lbs = HUGE

3. The baby is the length of a baby 2 weeks farther along = HUGE

4. The baby is HUGE

So above is the picture from the ultrasound, you can see the head and a profile of the face with the little nose and the outline of the ears. I love this ultrasound also because the baby is sucking its thumb. Do you see it? Try squinting and turning your head Not yet, well neither can we. I dont know what it is even a picture of and we have two more that are even less clear. We told the Doctor that we wanted to be surprised at the birth and thought it may be easy to see the sex during the ultrasound. She kind of laughed at us and after you look at the attached photo you can see why.

Monday Night we drove out for dinner in Grand Haven, and Tuesday night we had dinner at Mom and Dad Clingers house. The lack of snow and -25 wind chill was a bit disappointing though. I kept telling Fred what a REAL winter was like and arrived to a balmy 40 and sun. I go away for a couple of years and its like the entire state moves to the south.

I havent been able to post over the last couple of weeks. Work has been killing me. I made a quick trip to the US a couple of weeks ago and was able to get in a 2 hour dinner with some friends in Grand Rapids. The guy way over there on the right is my French co-worker Fred. From there moving left is Marika, me, Averil (Shawns Fiancie), Shawn, Eddy, and Cody. Short trip but I got a lot packed in.

Sarah is still feeling great (for someone with a person growing inside her). She has a last ultrasound this Thursday. I dont think they do the 34 week ultrasound in the US. From what we hear if the baby is positioned correctly it will be very difficult NOT to see if we are going to have a boy or a girl. I am going to need to keep my hands over Sarahs eyes.

I was on a whirl wind three day trip for work last week. The weather was great here all weekend but we mostly stayed inside and did some prep work for the baby. Also made a very expensive trip to the grocery; its like we are getting ready for a hurricane.

Sarah and I did a small road trip down to Aix les Bains today. The weather was great. We walked by the lake then had a great lunch in town.  Posted by Picasa

Happy New Year, Bonne Anne. We hung out with our friends Jeff and Amy for a little bit last night then came home to sleep. It is absolutely gorgeous out today and we are going to go for a little road trip. Hope everyone rung in the New Year safely.
